EF Fast Track: Using Hybrid BYOD Mobile Learning for Intensive Language Courses

EF went all the way from using iPad at the lessons for adult students to specially designed EF apps for school students based on Fast Track method. This methodology is employs Hybrid BYOD Learning methods with the use of mobile apps and gamification tools, FB stories, Reels and Tik Tok along with traditional teaching methods. Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) philosophy has been used throughout the whole course jointly with additional EF apps for teachers as part of curriculum and out-of-class activities, and even to receive feedback on the course outcomes. From pedagogical perspective BYOD transfers the leaning process into the students hands, or rather their gadgets, which results in more freedom and opportunities in managing their learning process. In process of creating the methodology they came across a number of challenges. David Bish will tell more about them during his presentation and also will share the mistakes made in the design of the course based on the methodology. Fast Track became the finalist of the British Council ELTONS awards as an EFL course innovation in 2018.
