Involved in the higher education system for over 25 years. Has a vast experience of working for the best Kazakhstani universities.

As of now, she is extensively involved in transforming the Safi Utebayev Atyrau Oil and Gas University into an industrial university designed to support the national oil and gas sector with engineering skills.

Understanding the significance and necessity for ESG, Gulzada has, for the first time in Central Asia and Kazakhstan, initiated the opening of a certified МВА sustainability program based on a well-balanced management of economic, social and environmental resources.

Being a member of the KazEnergy Women Energy Club, she managed to implement Women Leadership in the Power Sector – the first unique MBA program in Central Asia introduced to the public in October 2022.

In autumn 2022, a branch of the Gubkin University that is rightfully considered the “oil Harvard” and will encourage the concentration of talented youth from all across the Pre-Caspian region to the Atyrau region was opened at the Safi Utebayev Atyrau Oil and Gas University.

Rector’s academic interest is related to economics of the Kazakhstani oil and gas sector. At the age of 33, she defended her doctoral thesis entitled “Managing the Strategic Development of the Oil and Gas Complex: Trends and Priorities”. She obtained the academic title of professor at the age of 35.

Being the author of over 80 academic papers, including monographs, Gulzada Shakulikova intends to obtain a new academic title in energy management.

Her papers received an international recognition, in particular, the Best Presentation Award, Ateneo de Manila University, June 2019: Shared Economy and Entrepreneurial Ecosystems; E-logistics for Multimodal Transport Framework Using Cloud-based Approach.

She shows particular interest in the cinema sector, including festival films; is a permanent reader of classical texts and believes that one should strive not for success but for the values it generates.
