Operational or Fictional Infrastructure: How to Design Relevant Environment and Efficiently Equip a School

At school buildings today’s students not just simply get information but rather work with information, for instance, try things out, invent or experiment. All that requires extensive and well-equipped facilities: workshop rooms, labs, art space filled with the creative spirit and not just a room. These facilities can be used not only by kids but for third-parties as well, for instance, universities or companies that may be interested in upgrading them with new equipment or technologies. We will try to decide how to include all necessary infrastructure at the stage of school design, where to start when choosing this or that educational process and how to build it up, so that it is productive and not fictional. We will show how to calculate the project economy, reach balance and efficiently equip the environment. We will look at the new formats initiated by post-pandemic reality: hybrid spaces and “distinguished school”, as well as what infrastructure of school buildings can be given for outsource to third-parties.
