Julia McFadden
Architect, Senior Associate with TSKP Studio, USA
Julia is a Senior Associate with TSKP Studio -- a United States architecture firm founded by Korean-born Tai Soo Kim. TSKP Studio has carried on his legacy with an approach to modern architecture that highlights a composition of simple forms depicted in beautiful materials. Julia has practiced architecture for 25 years, following undergraduate study in Theatre Arts and a Master of Architecture. Julia took up post-graduate studies of Public Art and Feng Shui to expand upon her interest in creating meaningful places through designs encompassing art, landscape, and structures.
Prior to her role leading K12 school projects at TSKP Studio, Julia led a design studio at Svigals + Partners and was the project manager for the new Sandy Hook School after the tragic shooting of 20 school children in 2012. She has spoken and written about designing safe schools that foster well-being and connection amongst the student body, staff, and wider community. Julia has developed particular expertise in facilitating and leading engagement workshops to establish the program along with well-articulated design themes and aspirations. This work earned her the designation as an Accredited Learning Environment Planner.
