- Early childhood
First years of life bring amazing changes to the human body. The brain doubles in size in the first year and by the age of three reaches 80% the size of an adult brain. As the brain grows during this time, a massive number of connections form and are molded into the essential pathways responsible for human skills such as language, motor skills, memory and emotional intelligence. This period is the starting point for a fulfilling and healthy life. As part of the presentation, we will take a closer look at the brain development cycle in the first few years from birth, with a focus on the long-term effects of environment, upbringing and early learning.
