“Won’t I be able to get a job tomorrow?” Lifelong learning in a world of rapidly evolving industries

By 2028, the US lifelong learning market will reach $93.25 billion, with a compound annual growth rate of 7.5%. The very rapid loss of skills in today’s world requires effective and massive training as part of continuing professional education to make up the shortfall. The Edtech market has embraced the concept of lifelong learning, but the question now is how to rebuild the global education system that has not involved such rapid change in occupations. How should education be structured to provide the necessary infrastructure for such lifelong learning? How should higher formal education and continuing education be structured to meet these needs? How to ensure the lifelong development of postgraduate professionals and what is lifelong learning in this context.
